Use Your Ecover in a Book Trailer

21 Oct

Creating an ecover for your book takes time and effort, so it only makes sense to attempt to use it in as many different ways as possible. One great way is to use it in your book trailer!

A book trailer is a mini video commercial for your book. It runs for one or two minutes and serves as a way to introduce your book to potential readers. The added advantage of a book trailer is that you can place this video on different websites across the web. This extends your marketing reach to places and people that you may have never thought of connecting with.

The best way to incorporate your ecover would be at the end of the trailer. This would be your last image where you also want to link to your sales page.

Book trailers are easy to create and work well if you include some music with them. If you aren’t great at creating videos you can use a site like Fiverr and find someone to make one for you for $5.

If you have any type of creative flare then you can make your own video using a program such as Windows Movie Maker, all Windows based PC’s have this software installed. It is one of the quickest and easiest ways to make a book trailer. You drag the music file into the editor and a once completed your book trailer has sound effects or music playing.

When your book trailer is completed you can use your trailer in several places:

  • Amazon Author Page
  • Author blog or website
  • Sales Page
  • Add to video sharing sites
  • Post link to social sites

By doing all of the above you are expanding your potential market. If your book trailer is fun and catchy it has the potential of reaching millions of viewers. You can see the traffic a popular video on YouTube attracts when it goes viral.

Even if your book trailer video only gets into the hundreds of a few thousand people this has great potential for increased book sales for you. It is important not to overlook any form of marketing and to try and attract new readers all the time. It wouldn’t even hurt to create more than one book trailer. Why not give your readers a further taste of what’s in store for them if they read your book?

If you are feeling really adventurous you could even use your own equipment to create your book trailer.
